BMW’s Maintenance Schedule: Inspections I & II

If you want your BMW to stay as sharp as it was the day you bought it, you need to have it brought in for routine maintenance. Fortunately, BMW uses an easy-to-follow maintenance schedule that alternates between two different sessions: Inspection I and Inspection II. The timing and services can vary depending on your vehicle’s make and model, but Inspection I typically occurs at 30,000, 60,000, and 90,000 miles. At this visit, technicians will inspect each section of your vehicle’s main three components: the undercarriage, the body/electrical system, and the engine. You can also expect them to change your engine oil, replace the oil filter, replace brake fluids, check for leaks, top off fluids, and check off other maintenance items. Inspection II typically occurs at 60,000 and 120,000 miles. While it includes the same services as Inspection I, technicians will also replace spark plugs and air filters, replace the battery (if needed), check for rust, and more. Like some other European luxury vehicles, BMW makes it easy to keep track of your maintenance schedule by using its BMW Maintenance System. When you visit Eurofed Auto Repair, bring the key you last used to drive because that’s where this important maintenance information is stored. This lets us know where you are in your car’s schedule, so you don’t have to go through duplicate or unnecessary services. Just stop by our South End location in Charlotte, NC — 5410 Old Pineville Rd, Charlotte, NC 28217 — and we’ll make sure your BMW gets the care it needs.
